Asante Kotoko coach Karim Zito has admitted that Kwame Opoku's injury affected their threat upfront against Kaizer Chiefs.  The Ghana Premier League clashed with the South African giants over the weekend in the Toyota Cup.

Opoku was spotted limping throughout the first half after picking up an apparent knee injury.

After a goalless scoreline, Kotoko recorded a 3-2 penalty shootout win against Chiefs to lift the trophy at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

After the win, Zito stated that the striker's hampered physical state affected the team's attacking play. "Within 10 minutes of the game, he [Kwame Opoku] got injured, it will definitely affect you," he said. "You saw that the attacking principle came down, so we had to revert to another tactical play just to be able to maintain and then contain them till the goal comes," he added.
