Black Queens coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has expressed optimism about his side's chances of winning the Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament in the future.  After making a return to the WAFCON for the first time since 2018, Ghana placed third after beating South Africa on a penalty shootout in the just-ended tournament hosted in Morocco.

Speaking to the media following the team's arrival in Accra on Monday, Bjorkegren said the current squad has a big prospect of winning the WAFCON in the future. "Tactical aspect, we learnt from the first game and we did some small changes," the Swiss gaffer said. "The future is really bright in Ghana, so we need to keep working hard.

We can see how close we are…of course we know we can win it [the AFCON]," he added.

Ghana kicked off their tournament with a defeat against South Africa, a draw against Mali, before beating Tanzania to qualify from their group.
