The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) says starting August 1, 2025, it will no longer issue aluminium 'Drive from Port' (DP) number plates at the country's ports.
The move marks a full transition to a digital system with the exclusive issuance of DP sticker numbers at all entry ports, including Tema and Takoradi.
This follows a successful pilot of the sticker-based DP number system at the two major ports.
The DVLA says the change is part of its broader commitment to enhance the security, efficiency, and convenience of its services for vehicle importers and the general public.
