Captain Portia Boakye stood proud as Ghana's Black Queens touched down in Accra to a hero's welcome after their bronze medal triumph at the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The team's return to the tournament after a long absence was filled with determination, setbacks, and an incredible comeback story.

Boakye, a pillar of strength throughout the campaign, expressed heartfelt gratitude to fans for their unwavering support. "It has been a long time since we participated, it's been five years so it is a different feeling.
