The National Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has made it clear that his party will fully contest the upcoming Akwatia by-election, brushing aside calls for leniency from elements within the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The man widely considered a potential successor to President John Dramani Mahama stated plainly, "There's no such thing as too much.
Even though we have a two-thirds majority in parliament, the people of Akwatia deserve their own representative-and we'll give them that." He explained that constituents in Akwatia who believe in the NDC's vision and leadership need someone in parliament to fight for their development needs. "Our supporters in Akwatia would not forgive us if we chose to stay away.
They have faith in us, and we must not let them down," he insisted in a recent interview with Ambassador TV monitored by MyNewsGh.
