Ghanaian highlife legend Charles Kojo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, has died.

His family confirmed the news in a press statement released on Saturday, July 26, 2025. "With profound sorrow and deep grief, the Fosu family announces the passing of Ghana's beloved musical icon, Charles Kojo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, who passed away earlier today, Saturday, July 26, 2025, after a short illness," the statement read.

Daddy Lumba was one of the most influential figures in Ghanaian music history.

He produced dozens of hit songs over several decades and built a loyal fanbase both in Ghana and abroad.
