Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), officially submitted his presidential nomination forms to the Electoral Commission in Accra on Monday, September 9. This marks a significant moment in his political journey, as he described the occasion as historic.
For Dr.
Bawumia, the submission of these forms represents a landmark event. "For me, it is a very historic opportunity to submit these forms for the first time as a presidential candidate.
I want to pray for God's blessings for our dear country Ghana," he stated after completing the filing process.
Accompanying Dr.
Bawumia were key figures from the NPP, including his Running Mate and Vice Presidential Candidate, Dr.
Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Party's National Chairman Stephen Ntim, General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, and other senior party members.

Jean Adukwei Mensa, Chair of the Electoral Commission, assured that the process of filing and auditing the presidential nomination forms would be conducted with utmost fairness and transparency.
She emphasized that the general elections would also be carried out in a peaceful and transparent manner. "We have no doubt that the process will be transparent, fair, and peaceful," she affirmed, reassuring all stakeholders of the integrity of the electoral process.
