Correspondence from North East Region The West Mamprusi Municipality in the North East Region has been battling a severe sanitation crisis, with Walewale being the hardest hit.
For years, residents have expressed frustration over poor waste management, blaming authorities for failing to provide a clean environment that would attract investors.
A major concern is the unauthorised dumping site in Walewale, where school children often rummage through trash, posing serious health risks.
The main dumpsite, located on the National Health Insurance Office-Tampulungu road, has encroached on a major road and even the main tarred road leading to the Walewale Government Hospital.
