Member of Parliament for Akwapem North, Sammi Awuku, has accused the current government of engaging in superficial governance, prioritising public relations over genuine economic relief.
In an interview on Channel One's Newsroom, Awuku launched a blistering critique of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), suggesting that its governance model thrives on "P.R., optics and settings." "I see a trend.
We have said that this government is a government of three things: P.R., optics and settings," he said. "So anything that positions them as doing something, but in actual fact, the pocket economy speaks for itself." The former National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) said the government has failed to back its rhetoric with real change, particularly on cost-saving measures.
Citing an example, he pointed to the supposed cancellation of fuel allocations for government appointees.
