Today, July 24, 2025, marks the 13th anniversary of the passing of then-sitting President John Evans Atta Mills, a leader remembered for his humility, integrity, and dedication to peace.   At a solemn wreath-laying ceremony held at Asomdwee Park in Accra to commemorate the day, President John Dramani Mahama paid glowing tribute to his former boss, urging Ghanaians to reflect on the values that defined Professor Mills' leadership.Mr Mahama, who served as Vice-President under the late president, drew a direct link between the current government's "Reset Agenda" and the legacy of the "Better Ghana Agenda" initiated by Professor Mills.

He described the late leader's vision as the moral and developmental foundation upon which his administration is building.

He stated, "If there's one lesson we draw from the life of President Mills, it is that no challenge is insurmountable when we lead with integrity, when we listen with empathy, and when we govern with principle." The president further encouraged politicians to depart from divisive tactics and focus instead on public service rooted in truth, humility, and national interest."Professor Mills governed this country with a deep moral compass.

He placed truth over expediency, people over politics, and the country over self," he said.
