Chairman of Parliament's Sports Committee, Ernest Norgbey, has hailed the Black Queens' run at the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations as a powerful source of inspiration for Ghana's youth, particularly young women.

Addressing Parliament on Monday ahead of the team's semi-final clash against hosts Morocco, Norgbey praised the Queens not just for their on-field success but for their impact beyond football. "This achievement is not just a sporting milestone; it is a celebration of Ghanaian resilience, unity, and excellence," Norgbey stated. "At a time when our younger generation seeks inspiration and leadership, the Black Queens have stood tall as an embodiment of what can be accomplished through hard work." The semi-final showdown, scheduled for 19:00 GMT on Tuesday, is a significant moment for Ghana, who last reached this stage in 2016 and are chasing a first final appearance since 2006.

The Black Queens, three-time runners-up in the competition, will be looking to end a near two-decade wait for continental glory.

Ghana recovered from a shaky group stage with a dominant 4–1 win over Tanzania and edged past Algeria on penalties in the quarter-finals.
