Samson Asaki Awingobit has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the delegates of the People's National Convention (PNC) following his election as the National Chairman.

In a "Thank You" message on Sunday, Awingobit conveyed his deep appreciation for the confidence and trust placed in him by the party members. "I am deeply honoured and humbled by the confidence you have placed in me by electing me as the National Chairman of the People's National Convention (PNC).

Your support and trust mean everything to me, and I am truly grateful to everyone who contributed to this victory," Awingobit stated.

He emphasised that the victory belongs to all members of the PNC, highlighting the party's collective strength, resilience, and dedication. "Together, we have shown that when we stand united, there is nothing we cannot achieve," he added.

Awingobit pledged to work tirelessly to strengthen the party, foster unity, and champion the values that the PNC holds dear.

He expressed his commitment to building a brighter future for the nation and ensuring that the voice of the people is heard loud and clear.

Mr Awingobit polled 893 votes, while Hajia Hajara garnered 460 votes out of 1,382 votes cast, 1,353 were valid, with 29 rejected.

In a gesture of goodwill, Awingobit acknowledged his competitor, praising the healthy competition and expressing his eagerness to work collaboratively. "As a mother and a leading figure in the PNC, I look forward to working hand in hand with you and consulting on pressing issues for the betterment of the PNC," he said.

Awingobit thanked the delegates for their unwavering support and expressed his anticipation of working together to advance the cause of the PNC and the country.
