The Bono Regional Chairman of the (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has hinted at his intention to contest the party's flagbearer position ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Speaking in an interview on Okay FM on July 16, 2025, Abronye DC stated that he is more than qualified to contest for the position when nominations are opened. "Do you know that I will be contesting the flagbearership position of the NPP?

I will contest, so I am also a potential aspirant.

I am more qualified than most of the people who have shown interest.
