Minister for Defence, Dr.
Edward Omane Boamah, has disclosed that Ghana's presidential jet remains grounded due to significant corrosion issues, with restoration efforts still ongoing. He made the revelation on Monday, July 21, during his presentation at the Government Accountability Series held at the Jubilee House.
According to the Minister, the Falcon aircraft has been out of service for a considerable period, and its return from maintenance continues to be delayed beyond several promised timelines."It is sad to note that for some time now, whenever the aircraft goes for either maintenance or repair… And in this case, as we speak, the aircraft is still not in," Dr.
Boamah stated. "We've been given a date, but I don't want to put that date out because I've been given too many dates which did not materialise." Although frustrated by the situation, the Minister remains hopeful that the latest scheduled date will be honoured. "We are hoping that this date that has been given, we will see the Falcon here in Ghana," he added.
