Former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Peter Mac Manu, has stated that a recent video of former President John Agyekum Kufuor stating that he has been neglected by the party may have been AI-generated.
His remark follows a viral video, which showed former President Kufuor lamenting over poor treatment by the NPP during an interaction with flagbearer hopeful Bryan Acheampong. "I don't understand why my own party, the NPP, has sidelined me," Kufuor decried.
However, responding to the comment in an exclusive interview with GhanaWeb at the party's 2025 National Annual Delegates Conference held on Saturday, July 19, Mac Manu dismissed the claims as untrue and questioned the authenticity of the footage.
He explained that he had recently visited President Kufuor to discuss party matters, stressing that the former president has not been sidelined. "It's not true.
