The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has reaffirmed Ghana's commitment to the fight against money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing across West Africa.

She made the remarks while officially opening the Second Extraordinary Ministerial Meeting of the Intergovernmental Action Group Against Money Laundering in West Africa (GIABA) in Accra.

In a post shared on social media, the Vice President described the engagement as a "high-level meeting" focused on strengthening regional collaboration within the ECOWAS subregion to address financial crimes. "Today, I had the honour of opening the second extraordinary ministerial meeting of GIABA," she stated. "This was a high-level engagement on the future of Anti-Money Laundering, Countering the Financing of Terrorism and Proliferation Financing efforts in the ECOWAS region." The meeting brought together ministers and representatives from across the region.
