The minister stressed that the government is fully committed to combating galamsey and has introduced stringent measures, including the formation of a taskforce to tackle the issue. "President Mahama says even if his brother is involved in galamsey, they should go after him.

Fighting galamsey requires political will, and President Mahama has that will," Ofosu Kwakye stated on TV3's KeyPoints, aired on July 19, 2025.
