The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has donated GH₵500,000 to the Oguaman Educational Fund.
This generous contribution is aimed at enhancing educational opportunities and resources for students in the region.
Speaking through his linguist at the Fetu Afahye at Victoria Park in Cape Coast on Saturday, Asantehene emphasized the importance of education in national development and the need to invest in the future of young Ghanaians.
He explained that the fund was being established to help the needy and called on all well-meaning Ghanaians to contribute towards the betterment of education in Cape Coast. "Education started here.
The trade started here.
Cotton was brought here first.
So, if education started here, then education must be enhanced here in Ogua.
Trade must also progress here.
Oguaaman must therefore not be underestimated.
Let's unite in oneness for Oguaman to progress and thrive as we have witnessed today.
I plead with Oguaman and all Ghanaians to support Oguaaman so that it will develop." "When I came, you told me that you want to establish an educational fund.
I support the fund with GH₵500,000.
I also call on all Ghanaians to support the fund so that education can be enhanced in Oguaaman." Osabarimba Kwesi Atta II, the Paramount Chief of the Oguaa Traditional Area, thanked the Asantehene for his kind words and support, promising to use the donation judiciously and for its intended purpose. "Thank you very much for your benevolence, and I promise to give you a periodic report," he said.
