The (NPP) has officially abolished its super delegates system as part of major reforms aimed at strengthening internal democracy.
The decision, announced at the party's 2025 Annual Delegates Conference on July 19, involves an amendment to Article 13(1)(9) of the party's constitution.
It means all presidential aspirants will now contest directly before the full electoral college, eliminating the pre-selection process previously conducted by a limited group of party elites.
Party officials say the move is intended to enhance transparency, fairness, and broaden participation in the flagbearer selection process ahead of the 2028 general elections.
