Director of Logistics and Protocol for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ludwig Hlordze, has delivered a message of solidarity to the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), urging them to draw strength from their past leadership and emerge from their National Delegates Conference more united and focused.
Speaking at the conference held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the University of Ghana Stadium, Hlordze encouraged the NPP to recognize the value of its two surviving former presidents and avoid sidelining them. "We also hope that after this conference, your party will appreciate the importance of having two surviving former presidents among you and continuously, adequately consult them to help build your party strong.
Don't alienate them outside the box," he stated.
According to Hlordze, consultation with experienced leadership is essential for building a credible and vibrant opposition. "They need you, you need them to be able to bring a strong opposition party," he added. "We hope that after this conference, you live here united and not divided." He also reflected on the broader national context, describing Ghana as being in the middle of a critical transformation. "The country, Ghana, is going through a reset process.
