Security officials have arrested a man believed to be Francis Asante, alias Swanzy-also known as Nana Kwasi among his close associates-who claimed to be the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the Delta Force vigilante group.
His arrest comes in the wake of a disturbing viral video, in which he was seen wearing military camouflage and issuing violent threats ahead of the upcoming Akwatia Parliamentary By-election.
In the footage, Swanzy warned that he and his group would "strike," going as far as to say that a prominent member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would be killed during the polls.
According to deep-throat sources within national security, Asante was apprehended at a hideout in Barekese, located in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region, on the evening of Friday, July 18, 2025.
