Ranking Member on Parliament's Economy and Development Committee, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, is demanding immediate submission of official documents on key government programmes recently launched. "These are major national initiatives, yet not a single A4 sheet has been presented to this House.
That makes oversight difficult," the Ofoase Ayirebi MP said on the floor of Parliament, Friday, July 18.
He pointed to six flagship initiatives including the FeedGhana programme, the 24-Hour Economy, and the National Apprenticeship Programme, all launched between April and June 2025, but still lacking documentation in Parliament. "With just a few weeks before we rise, I urge the Business Committee to add a supplementary statement that includes these documents," he added, emphasizing the Speaker had earlier requested the same regarding the 24-Hour Economy.
Oppong Nkrumah insisted that proper scrutiny of these policies is crucial, stressing Parliament's constitutional duty to hold government accountable.
