The Minister of Health, , on July 18, 2025, received a donation of medical drugs from the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association of Ghana (PMAG) to support the Mahama Cares Initiative.

The donated items, valued at GH¢2.2 million, include pain relief medication, blood tonics, anti-malaria drugs, cardiovascular drugs, anti-diabetic medication, and asthma management drugs, among others.

PMAG is an umbrella body comprising 25 pharmaceutical companies operating in Ghana.

Expressing appreciation on behalf of the Ministry, Akandoh described the donation as a critical boost to the Mahama Cares Initiative, which seeks to improve public health service delivery, particularly in underserved communities. "This donation could not have come at a better time.
