Six suspects have been arrested by the Winneba Divisional Police Command for their alleged involvement in a recruitment scam that targeted dozens of job seekers in Effutu, Central Region.
According to a report by adomonline.com on July 18, 2025, the suspects posed as representatives of an 'independent distributor of Neo Life Company Limited,' and deceived victims with fake job offers while collecting money from them under false pretenses.
Divisional Crime Officer, ASP George Quainoo, confirmed the arrest and disclosed that 54 victims, 15 Nigerians and 39 Ghanaians were rescued during the police operation. "These suspects were seen moving across the Winneba township distributing recruitment cards and advertising jobs that did not exist.
Their main targets were unemployed youth," ASP Quainoo explained.
