Algeria women's national team coach Farid Benstiti believes Saturday's quarter-final encounter against Ghana will be tightly contested, with both sides equally capable of advancing to the last four of the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations.

Speaking ahead of the clash, the Frenchman said his side is targeting a historic semi-final appearance, having never gone beyond the last eight of the tournament.

The North Africans will face the Black Queens at the Stade de Berkane on July 19. "Football at the quarter-finals is 50/50," Benstiti told the media during the pre-match press conference. "It is not a problem for us [winning one game].

We want to be more efficient against Ghana.
