Black Queens forward Josephine Bonsu challenged her teammates to turn the "pressure" of playing in the quarter-finals into "motivation" at the ongoing 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament.
Ghana face Algeria on Saturday, July 19 at the Stade de Berkane, with the team hoping for a win to secure a place in the semi-finals for the first time since 2016. "We all know [there is] pressure because it's the quarter-finals; it's only one game," Josephine said during the pre-match conference. "But we have to turn the pressure into motivation.
Who doesn't want to play the biggest tournament in Africa, and the next stage is the semi-finals? "I just enjoy every moment," she added.
Ghana, who secured a place in the last eight with a 4-1 win against Tanzania, will hold their last training session today ahead of the highly anticipated game on Saturday.
