The Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku, Benjamin Narteh Ayiku, has called on the authorities at O'Reilly Senior High School to place a strong emphasis on discipline within the institution.

He expressed regret over the tragic death of a student, who was fatally stabbed by a fellow student, noting that the incident could have been prevented.

On Tuesday, September 3, 2024, a violent altercation at O'Reilly Senior High School in the Greater Accra Region resulted in the death of Edward Borketey Sackey, a student at the school.

Sources indicate that the incident began as a heated argument between two students, which quickly escalated into a physical confrontation, culminating in the fatal stabbing.

A video acquired by Channel One News shows students rushing the injured Edward to the hospital shortly after the attack.

The police have since arrested the student suspected of carrying out the stabbing.

Following a visit to both O'Reilly Senior High School and the family of the deceased, Benjamin Narteh Ayiku expressed his sorrow over the tragic event.

Ayiku made the call when he paid a visit to O'Reilly Senior High School and the family of the deceased on Saturday.

Edward's father, Enoch Sackey, stated that the family would decide whether to take legal action against the school's administration once the investigation is completed in two weeks.
