New Asante Kotoko signing Shayibu Abubakari has described his transfer to the club as a major step in his career and expressed his desire to grow while contributing fully to the team's ambitions.
The 21-year-old right-back joined the Porcupine Warriors on a three-year deal from Karela United after passing his medical.
Abubakari, who has also featured for Real Tamale United and had a brief stint in the Czech Republic with Mladá Boleslav, adds depth to Kotoko's defensive options.
In his first interview with the club's media team, the athletic and attack-minded full-back said he was excited by the challenge ahead and eager to improve his game alongside more experienced teammates. "I'm still young and I see this as a big opportunity to progress in my career," he said. "This is a great environment to learn, and I'm particularly looking forward to working with Lord Amoah and pushing myself every day.
