World football's governing body, FIFA, has officially confirmed that ticket applications for the highly anticipated 2026 FIFA World Cup will open on Wednesday, September 10.

Fans hoping to attend the tournament will need to register and create a FIFA ID at FIFA.com/tickets to participate in the initial ticket draw.

Set to be co-hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States, the 2026 edition is already generating massive excitement following the successful staging of the FIFA Club World Cup in the U.S. "We're looking forward to welcoming the world back to North America, as Canada, Mexico and the United States host what will be the biggest and greatest sporting event ever," said FIFA President Gianni Infantino. "We encourage fans everywhere to get ready to secure their place – these will be the most coveted seats in world sport." FIFA also announced that the ticketing process will be released in several phases, with each stage featuring different purchasing systems, payment options, and categories of tickets.
