Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, has reaffirmed the agency's full commitment to supporting the construction of modern stadia in Ghana's six newly created regions, describing it as a long-overdue investment in underserved areas.

This comes after former President John Dramani Mahama, during his recent "Thank You Tour", promised to revive the NDC government's earlier pledge to build world-class sports infrastructure in the Western North, Oti, North East, Bono East, Savannah, and Ahafo regions. "These regions have called themselves the orphan regions for a reason.

They believe they've not had a fair share of the national cake, and during the campaign, His Excellency listened to those cries," said Ankrah.

He praised Mahama's renewed leadership and commitment to equitable development, stating that the NSA is ready to collaborate and deliver facilities that meet international standards. "We're very inspired by his leadership.
