The Western Central Regional Police Command has arrested two individuals for extortion and impersonating officials of the Ghana Gold Board Taskforce.

In a statement shared on Facebook on July 16, 2025, the said the arrests followed complaints that the suspects, who claimed to be ex-military officers, were visiting gold buyers and posing as members of the Gold Board Taskforce. "The Western Central Regional Police Command has arrested two persons for extortion and impersonating officials of the Ghana Gold Board Taskforce.

The two suspects, Foster Delord, aged 40, and Prince Worvi, aged 38, who claim to be ex-military officers, were arrested following a complaint received by the Police that they were visiting different gold buyers while claiming to be officials of the Gold Board Taskforce," the statement said.

Items retrieved from the suspects include a pair of handcuffs, pepper spray, an electric shock device, a set of uniforms resembling the official attire of the Gold Board Taskforce, and an amount of GH¢500.
