The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has approved the GFA Standard Player Contract (GSPC), which will come into force from the 2025/26 football season across the Ghana Premier League, Malta Guinness Women's Premier League, and the Access Bank Division One League.
The newly approved contract follows years of collaborative drafting between the GFA, its member clubs, and the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG).
The final version reflects wide-ranging input from stakeholders, with the option for continued revision in future seasons.
The GSPC aims to protect player welfare, ensure minimum employment standards, and reduce contractual disputes by introducing a unified agreement for all professional footballers in the country.
