Mills lega­cy of peace, humility, and dedicated public service, which will involve activities such as a public lecture, a hockey tournament, wreath laying and a memorial service.Addressing a news conference on the 13th anniversary of the passing of the late president in Accra yesterday, the Chairman of JEAMMH, Mr Alex Segbefia, said the programme was not only to pay tribute to the former president but also to promote national reflection on leadership grounded in integrity and selflessness.The commemoration will begin with a public lecture on Tuesday, July 22, at the Ohene Konadu Auditorium of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).The lecture, themed: 'Atta Mills: A Case Study for the Fourth Republic,' would be delivered by former Electoral Commission Chairperson, Mrs Charlotte Osei, and would be chaired by Chief of Staff, Mr Julius Debrah.He said a wreath-laying ceremony and memorial service would follow on Thursday, July 24, at Asomdwee Park, the final resting place of President Mills.Mr Segbefia added that, the weeklong commemoration would conclude with the 13th John Ev­ans Atta Mills Memorial Hockey Tournament on Saturday, July 26, at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium.The tournament, which will begin at 7:30 a.m., is a tribute to President Mills' passion for sports and its role in fostering discipline, teamwork, and youth development.Mr Segbefia, therefore, called on Ghanaians from all sectors includ­ing civil society, the media, and the general public to participate in the events, describing it as an oppor­tunity to celebrate a leader whose moral compass and commitment to unity continue to inspire the nation.The Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of Administration, Ms Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, paid tribute to the late president, describing him as a symbol of compassion and calm leadership."He brought a breath of fresh air to Ghana's political landscape.
