Former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has paid a heartfelt tribute to late former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away on July 13, 2025, at 82.
In a moving message shared on Facebook, Dr Bawumia expressed his deep sorrow and extended condolences to the people of Nigeria, acknowledging Buhari's significant contributions to the region.
He described Buhari as a "fine gentleman" who was deeply committed to the welfare of his people, especially the underprivileged, a "true leader" and a "statesman of impeccable integrity." According to a report on July 14, 2025, Buhari died in London on Sunday afternoon.
He was a towering figure in African politics, having led Nigeria both as a military ruler and later as a democratically elected president.
