Black Queens midfielder Alice Kusi has criticised her team's lacklustre start at the Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), insisting the players must move past excuses and deliver results in their final group game.
The Ghanaian international, speaking ahead of their crucial encounter with Tanzania, believes the team must now "play for the badge" if they are to keep their WAFCON campaign alive.
Kusi's comments come after Ghana failed to win either of their opening matches in Group C â a 2-0 loss to defending champions South Africa, followed by a 1-1 draw against Mali.
The Black Queens currently sit bottom of the group with a single point and will need a win against Tanzania on Monday, July 11, to stand any chance of reaching the quarter-finals. "We have our last game to play at the WAFCON [against Tanzania]," Kusi told Sporty FM. "The excuses are too much.
