The New Patriotic Party's (NPP) 2024 parliamentary candidate for Adentan, Akosua Manu, has criticised members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for invoking the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election incident to justify the violent attack on former Fisheries Minister Hawa Koomson during the Ablekuma North parliamentary rerun on Friday, July 11.
Speaking on Channel One Newsroom on Sunday, July 13, after accompanying Former Vice President Dr.
Mahamudu Bawumia and his entourage on a visit to the Former Minister, Akosua Manu condemned what she described as the NDC's attempt to weaponise a past incident for political convenience.
She argued that the context of Ayawaso West Wuogon is fundamentally different and should not be used to excuse acts of political violence.
