Tanzania head coach Bakari Shime says his side is determined to claim all three points when they face Ghana in their final Group C clash at the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
Speaking ahead of the must-win encounter, Shime described the game as crucial for both teams but admitted the stakes are even higher for his side. "Tomorrow, we'll play the last group game or the last game in the tournament," Shime said. "This is a very, very important game for both teams, especially us.
We have one point, and we look forward to getting the three points so that we make it to the next round." Tanzania impressed in their last outing, holding defending champions South Africa to a 1-1 draw and nearly snatching all three points.
That performance has given the East Africans belief that they can overcome Ghana and progress. "We know about Ghana, we followed their last two games," Shime added. "We want to walk away with three points.
