Nigeria's former president, Muhammadu Buhari, has died at the age of 82 after a prolonged illness.
He passed away in London, where he had been receiving medical care, according to a statement from the Nigerian presidency.
Buhari, a former military ruler, served as Nigeria's democratic president from 2015 to 2023.
His tenure was marked by an aggressive anti-corruption stance and efforts to combat Boko Haram insurgents, though his administration also faced economic challenges and public criticism.
