The Akyem Ofoase Magistrate Court in the Eastern Region has remanded a timber dealer, Samuel Agyei Donkor, for allegedly assaulting a farmer, Kofi Boakye, with a chainsaw machine.
The accused, popularly known as Rabbi, also serves as the Constituency Organizer of the (NPP) in the Ofoase Ayirebi Constituency.
The incident occurred at Akyem Bontodiase, where Donkor had gone to cut down trees near the public cemetery.
The farmer, Kofi Boakye, who is the complainant in the case, confronted Donkor and questioned whether he had obtained authorization to harvest the timber.
