The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has announced that parts of the country will experience temporary power outages today, Sunday, July 13, 2025.
According to Minister John Abdulai Jinapor, the planned disruptions are the result of ongoing maintenance works being undertaken by gas supplier ENI.
The maintenance, which involves the temporary shutdown of gas valves, forms part of a broader rehabilitation effort aimed at increasing gas output and ensuring long-term energy stability. "This is a necessary step to enhance the efficiency and reliability of our gas infrastructure," the minister said in a statement. "We acknowledge the inconvenience it may cause and assure the public that the maintenance is crucial to improving the overall energy supply in the country." Although the ministry has not specified the areas that will be affected, the public and businesses have been urged to make the necessary preparations.
Power is expected to be restored once the maintenance works are completed later in the day.
