The Wound Care Centre at the Keta Municipal Hospital in the Volta Region, has conducted a successful skin grafting operation on a patient, who had been suffering from a post-traumatic ulcer wound.
The patient, Matsiador Jerome, a 24-year-old former student of Akatsi Senior High Technical School, had been admitted to the hospital on Friday, January 24, 2025, after getting injured while playing football in late December 2024.
Matsiador, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said the injury had caused his right leg to swell, and despite spending over GH₵10,000, he had not seen any significant improvement in his condition after visiting several places and health centres seeking for a solution before being admitted to the Keta Municipal Hospital. "Let me use this opportunity to commend all health workers at the hospital for the care I received, and l am grateful for the successful skin graft and the attention l received from the medical team," he said.
He said the successful exercise was a testament to the quality healthcare services being provided at the Keta Municipal Hospital and the Wound Care Centre demonstrated its capability to handle complex cases and the expertise exhibited by the medical team and dedication have been instrumental in saving lives.
