Media personality, Okatakyie Afrifa-Mensah has revealed that a group of politically motivated thugs had deliberately targeted to assault two journalists and three politicians during the Ablekuma North parliamentary rerun held on Friday, July 11, 2025.
According to the outspoken broadcaster, his intel indicates that himself- Okatakyie Afrifa Mensa, Akwasi Nsiah of Adom TV, Hawa Koomson, Dennis Miracles Aboagye and Weija/Gbawe MP, Jerry Ahmed Shaib, were the targets prompting some of them to stay away from the polling centres on security grounds.
Speaking on the issue on his "For The Records show" on Saturday, July 12, 2025, Okatakie Afrifa-Mensah, said the group had planned attacks on these individuals due to their perceived influence and outspoken nature. "Upon reflection, I realized the advice given to me was good.
That is why I decided not to visit any of the 19 polling stations," he stated.
