Ghana is exploring the acquisition of Ukrainian-made drones to enhance surveillance and security along its northern borders with the Sahel region, following a high-level phone conversation between President John Dramani Mahama and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
During the call, the two leaders discussed expanding bilateral cooperation, with a particular focus on advanced technologies, including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
President Zelenskyy confirmed Ukraine's readiness to support Ghana with its UAV models to help monitor and secure border areas increasingly threatened by extremist violence from Islamist jihadist groups.
The conversation also covered broader areas of partnership, such as agro-industrial development and food logistics.
