Director of Communications for the Bawumia Campaign Team, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has urged the (NPP) to establish a "self-protection committee" in response to the violent incidents that marred the recent Ablekuma North parliamentary rerun election.
Speaking on JoyNews' Newsfile on Saturday, July 12, Aboagye expressed grave concern over the perceived lack of official response from the presidency, after more than 24 hours since the violent scenes unfolded. "With what I saw with my own eyes in Ablekuma, and with what I have seen public officials, including Sam George, a cabinet minister, saying - that they are now about to start - I think the NPP has no choice," Aboagye stated. "The NPP has a legal committee, an elections committee, and a communications committee.
It is only fair that the party quickly reorganises and establishes a self-protection committee," he further elaborated on his proposal.
The Bawumia Campaign spokesperson elaborated, "We are yet to hear from our presidency.
