Burkina Faso can now host international fixtures at home again after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) officially approved the Stade du 4 Août in Ouagadougou.
The approval, confirmed in a letter from CAF's Director of Tournaments and Events, Samson Adamu, was addressed to the Burkinabè Football Federation (FBF), commending the government for its commitment to the renovation and rehabilitation of the venue.
The stadium, closed since March 2021 due to non-compliance with international standards, has undergone significant upgrades.
Following a positive inspection on June 23 and subsequent confirmation on July 1, the four-year wait for a return to the iconic ground has come to an end.
