The former Director of Communications for the Dr Mahamudu Bawumia 2024 Presidential Campaign, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has alleged that the former Member of Parliament for the Awutu Senya East Constituency, , is in critical condition after being assaulted in the ongoing parliamentary election rerun in the Ablekuma North Constituency.
Addressing journalists on Friday, July 11, 2025, he stated, "Our people are being attacked, as I speak, Hawa Koomson is fighting for her life." Tensions heightened during the parliamentary rerun a when a group of unidentified macho men stormed St Peter's polling station, disrupting the process and unleashing violence on political figures and journalists.
From the videos, some of the thugs hit Hawa Koomson, which forced her to fall to the ground.
The videos captured then showed the thugs dragging the former MP while she was on the floor.
