The immediate past Member of Parliament (NPP) for Awutu Senya East, , was assaulted at the Odorkor Methodist Church polling station, one of the 19 stations for the ongoing rerun of the 2024 parliamentary election in the Ablekuma North constituency.
In videos that have since gone viral, the former lawmaker was captured being brutally assaulted, causing her to lose her footing and fall to the ground, seemingly helpless.
She was shielded by police officers deployed to provide security at the polling station, as the thugs went on a rampage, unleashing chaos.
The assault has since sparked varied reactions from the general public, generating widespread condemnation from Ghanaians and members of the (NPP).
