The immediate past Member of Parliament (NPP) for Awutu Senya East, , has been assaulted at the Odorkor Methodist Church polling station, one of the 19 polling stations for the ongoing rerun of the 2024 parliamentary election in the Ablekuma North constituency.
Videos of the incident that have gone viral show that the former NPP MP, who also served as the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development under the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government, being subjected to severe beatings by thugs.
The videos showed the thugs storming the polling station and overcoming the police officers there.
The thugs hit Hawa Koomson, which forced her to fall.
