Kwabena Agyekum Banahene, a journalist from GHOne TV - a subsidiary of the EIB Network- was slapped by a police officer while performing his official duties on Friday, July 11, 2025, during the parliamentary election rerun at Ablekuma North, part of the Greater Accra Region.
Banahene, clearly identifiable in his branded press attire, was covering the event at the Church of Pentecost Odorkor Polling Station when he was approached by an officer who demanded that he leave the premises, according to reports.
Despite explaining that he was there as a journalist, the officer threw his hand at him, in what appeared like a slap to his face.
Footage circulating online captured the very moment the police officer slapped the journalist.
