A member of the Council of State, Gabriel Kwamigah-Atokple, has committed himself to the VOLTA RISING project, an initiative aimed at promoting inclusive development in the Volta Region through global partnerships and increased community engagement.
The initiative follows a key finding from his doctoral research, which revealed a significant under-utilisation of community involvement in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects.
Kwamigah-Atokple's PhD thesis, titled "Public-Private Partnerships and Regional Infrastructure Development: An Empirical Study of the Volta Region in Ghana," focused on assessing the role of PPPs in advancing regional development.
His interest in the subject was shaped by his early professional experience working under the late PV Obeng on similar projects during his time in the civil service.
